COMPREHENSIVE MEMBERSHIP POLICY

1. POLICY STATEMENT
This document establishes the official membership framework for NRNA Thailand in accordance with:
- NRNA International Coordination Council (ICC) Bylaws 2021
- Thailand’s Foreign Organizations Act B.E. 2558
- Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) B.E. 2562
2. MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
2.1 Voting Members
(Eligible for elections and leadership roles)
2.1.1 General Member
- Fee: ฿500 biennial
- Requirements:
- Nepali citizenship or origin
- Valid Thai visa (Non-Immigrant/Work Permit)
- Minimum 2 years residency in Thailand
2.1.2 Lifetime Member
- Fee: ฿5,000 one-time
- Privileges:
- Permanent voting rights
- Priority event invitations
2.2 Non-Voting Members
2.2.1 Associate Member
- Fee: ฿300 biennial
- Eligibility:
- Thai nationals of Nepali descent
- Nepal-related organizations
2.2.2 Student Member
- Fee: ฿100 biennial
- Requirements:
- Enrollment proof from Thai institution
- Valid student visa
2.3 Honorary Member
- Awarded by Executive Committee
- Fee-exempt
3. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
3.1 Digital Submission
- Portal: https://nrnathailand.org/register/
- Required Documents:
- Scanned passport/NID card
- Thai residency proof (utility bill/rental contract)
- Recent passport-size photo (digital)
3.2 Verification Process
- Step 1: Automated document check (48 hours)
- Step 2: Video interview if required
- Step 3: Approval notification via SMS/email
3.3 Payment Methods
- PromptPay (Thai mobile banking)
- Bank transfer (Kasikorn Bank Account: XXX-XXX-XXXX)
- In-person at Bangkok/Phuket/Pattaya offices
4. MEMBER RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1 Entitlements
- Access to legal assistance hotline
- Discounts at partner businesses
- Voting in biennial elections (voting members only)
4.2 Obligations
- Annual profile updates
- Compliance with NRNA code of conduct
- Timely fee payments
5. DATA MANAGEMENT
5.1 Privacy Protections
- All data stored on secure Thai servers
- PDPA-compliant encryption standards
5.2 Retention Policy
- Active members: Data retained indefinitely
- Lapsed members: Data anonymized after 3 years
6. POLICY ADMINISTRATION
6.1 Governing Bodies
- Membership Committee: Oversees applications
- Ethics Bureau: Handles violations
6.2 Amendment Process
- Proposal submission to Secretariat
- Executive Committee review
- 2/3 majority vote required

DEFINITION OF NEPALI ORIGIN
(As per Nepal’s Non-Resident Nepali Act 2078 with Thailand-specific adaptations)
5.1 Non-Resident Nepali (NRN)
Refers to any of the following residing outside Nepal (excluding SAARC nations):
- Foreign Citizens of Nepali Origin:
- Individuals who previously held Nepali citizenship OR
- Have at least one ancestor (parent/grandparent) who was a Nepali citizen
